Sel: how is she?
I just shrugged my shoulders.
Sel: shell come around. I know she will.
Joe: I hope.
Sel: you really like her huh.
I was kind of taken back my her forwardness. No one has ever really asked me that. No one ever really asked about US. I dont tell anyone. didnt think I needed to. I sighed.
Joe: yeah.
I didnt know why all of a sudden I was telling selena this. Her and I never really clicked. We always bumped heads and she always called me an egotistical jerk. She smiled and gave me a hug. I reluctantly hugged her back.
Sel: ok.
She got up and was beginning to leave.
Joe: wait!
She turned around.
Joe: I need your help with something.
[next morningcassies POV]
I was laying in bed as usual. I stared at the ceiling as the light from the rising sun was beginning to peek through my blinds. I heard Michael moving around in his room and eventually head out the door. I sighed and got out of bed. I kicked my clothes to a corner in my room and found my notebook. I pulled it out and took out my pencil. I began to sketch. What? Im not really sure. I got sick of it and I looked up. Joes football jacket caught my eye. It was on my computer chair. He must have forgotten it when he came yesterday. I couldnt help but smile a bit at the thought of him. He was so amazing. And I dont think I can ever thank him for everything hes done for me. I got up, put it on and embraced his smell. Then it hit me.
Cass: oh my gosh!
I grabbed my phone and looked at the time. I have like 15 minutes to get to school. I quickly grabbed some sweats put on a tshirt and took his jacket with me. After a very long walk I finally got to school. I quickly ran up the steps and into the gym where I knew the ceremony was being held. A few people were trickling out and my heart sank.
[Joes POV]
Today was the big day. Today was the day all of my dreams were going to come through and everything I worked so hard for was right there ready for me to grasp. We walked into the gym and a table was set up with 4 chairs. I was in my best suit and walked in with my parents and my brothers. My mom gave me one last hug and they took their seats. This thing was never ending! I was bored out of my mind and I was slumping in my chair. I looked at my family and my mom was giving me a look to sit up. I rolled my eyes and sat up. I looked around at the audience and my heart sank when I couldnt find her. I looked at the entrance and after 5 minutes of just staring I gave up hope.
Guy: joseph adam jonas!
The crowd started clapping and I got up slowly. Here goes. I got up and made my way over to the group of old guys in horrible suits. I shook the hand of some important guy from USC, the coach who by the way intimidated the hell out of me, our principle and finally my coach. I got to the end of the line and posed for pictures. I sat down and watched all the other guys get their stuff. A few more hip hip hoorays and the stupid thing was finally over. My family went over to me.
Mrs J: aw sweetie Im so proud of you!
Joe: thanks mom.
Mr. J: well wait for you outside while you get your things.
I agreed and they headed out the door. I went back to my chair and grabbed my paperwork and what not. I turned around and saw that almost everybody was outside. I sighed somewhat disappointed that she didnt show up. I turned around to grab my coat when I felt a tap on my shoulder.
???:hey stud.
I turned around and I got excited.
Joe: cass.
Cass: Im sorry Im late. Im so sorry that I forgot and that I wasnt even going to come even after you asked me and I know this means so much to you and youve always helped me out and supported me in everything and I wasnt there for you which is totally not fair and Ill totally make it up to you and---
Joe: cass!
Cass: what.
Joe: its ok. Im glad you made it.
She smiled at me and gave me a hug. I smiled and held her tight. It felt so right having her there with me. She fit perfectly in my arms. And I never wanted to let go.
